If you’ve been reading my blog, or have been a follower of mine on Instagram, for a while now. You will know that I have a major sweet tooth. Like, a major one! So when I discovered an Instagram picture of the exclusive doughnuts at Krispy Kreme Selfridges I knew I had to get some.
So last week, when I had a few meetings in London, I popped in. There is a range of 6 luxury hand finished Krispy Kreme doughnuts to choose from. I only bought 3 of them, although I was tempted to buy more.
My Choices From Krispy Kreme Selfridges
The Magic Unicorn
This was the doughnut I was most excited about! It was a picture of this doughnut, that lead me to discover, the full range. Just like not judging a book by its cover. You shouldn’t judge a doughnut by the way it looks. I thought that it was going to be delicious. I was wrong! It really didn’t taste of much, other than, lots and lots of sugar! The topping tastes like the filling of a Krispy Kreme doughnut. The filling did match the topping, so that was kind of fun.
Salted Caramel & Honeycomb
I am a massive lover of anything salted caramel! The doughnut was good. I wouldn’t say it’s the best salted caramel thing, I’ve ever tasted, but it was good. The topping was extremely sticky. Which you can imagine it would be. The honeycomb was ok. The best thing I liked about this doughnut is the filling. The filling did taste of caramel and was slightly salty. I would get this again.
Red Berry Drizzle
I didn’t expect to like this doughnut very much. But I loved it! Out of my choices, this was my favourite one, by a million miles. The doughnut itself is basically the Krispy Kreme Glazed Raspberry. Combine this with a topping of cream cheese frosting, fresh strawberries, and a drizzle of strawberry sauce… wow! It really worked. If you asked me what to get, I would suggest this, every time!
The Other Options From Krispy Kreme Selfridges
They didn’t have the full range of doughnuts when I visited. Which probably helped me in my decision making. The other 3 doughnuts that they have are…
Popping Champagne (Which if it was there I would have bought!)
Strawberry Biscuit Bite
The Selfridges (They had this but I thought it might be too much, as it has a chocolate filling, and covered in chocolate)
The next time I’m in London, I’m going to go into Selfridges, and buy the ones I didn’t get. You know, for the sake of really trying it, of course.
I believe that these are only available in the London Selfridges.
Have you tried them? If you have let me know which ones and what you thought of them.
