Everyone has their favourite season. Mine if you haven’t already guessed it is Autumn. Winter comes a close second. Why do I love Autumn so much? Apart from the cooler weather, cosy nights in and Halloween. There is another major reason why I love it. It’s when my favourite hot drink comes out… pumpkin spice lattes.
I only started drinking coffee last year. I was never a fan of it as I thought it was too bitter. Then I started having mochas, which then went onto caramel lattes, and finally, I can take lattes. A normal coffee is still too bitter for me.
I love Pumpkin Spice Lattes…
So in terms of discovering pumpkin spice lattes, I’m kind of a newbie. I remember my first one like it was yesterday. I didn’t really know much about them when I was working from Starbucks one day, and someone ordered one. The order made me curious so I decided to try it.
At first sip, I wasn’t sure about it. I thought it didn’t taste much like pumpkin. Then thought would I really want a pumpkin flavoured coffee? So I drunk on. The taste really grew on me and by the time I finished. I was addicted to them! I believe I visited Starbucks at least once a week during pumpkin spice season last year.
Why I love them…
The reason why I love them is that they remind me of autumn. They smell festive but not too festive to be Christmas focused. I actually love pumpkin in savoury food and I am a fan of pumpkin pie. So it ties all the things I like into a tasty hot drink. It is actually perfect to warm up on a cold morning too!
I’m not a Starbucks reward card holder, so I had to wait until this week, to get my hands on one. I don’t have a store close to me. You’d think that because I live in London, there would be one 5 minutes away, but I’m not that lucky. So, when I was visiting the in-laws, I got up early and dashed into the Witney branch.
Yes, I woke up early for a pumpkin spice latte! Maybe my addiction has gotten little out of hand. But, it was the perfect way to start the day, before a 4-hour drive to Devon!
I know that this is a pretty long post about a coffee but I had to express my love for pumpkin spice lattes somehow. And yes, I agree with you, if you think I’m basic… I’m kind of proud of it.
What is your favourite Starbucks drink?
I would love to find out! As I work from Starbucks a lot, so I have plenty of opportunities, to try a new coffee or tea.
